Philadelphia’s Cycling Culture in pictures

Did you ride your bike yet? With the first signs of spring in the air I think it is a good time to revisit my year round documenting project capturing Philadelphia’s cycling culture. (Which is BTW totally different than the Dutch culture I am used to…)

What do you think? Besides the #PhillyBikeRace, am I missing something here? What should I focus on to capture the essence of what goes around in Philly?

Professional Cycling Returns to Philly in 2018!

Professional road racing is returning to Philadelphia after a one-year hiatus. The UCI 1.1 Independence Classic is scheduled for June 3, 2018 in Philadelphia, PA, as officially announced in September 2017.

With a three-decade history of being named one of the major one-day race events in the USA, The former Philadelphia International Cycling Classic (A.K.A Manayunk Wall Bike Race) is held on a 12.3 miles long lap, partly urban, partly hilly roads, mostly in the NorthWest Section of Philadelphia, PA.

Photos – 79th Annual Dad Vail Regatta

Dad Vail Regatta 2017, in Philadelphia, PA

Members of U.S. and Canadian collegiate rowing teams compete in the Olympic length of 2000 meters of the Dad Vail Regatta, on the Schuylkill River, in Philadelphia, PA, on May 12, 2017. With over a hundred competing teams the three-day long Dad Vail Regatta is the largest regular intercollegiate rowing event in the United States.
